It's been quiet around here, but I'm back! What are you up to this weekend? We have a friends' birthday to celebrate and a cookout on Sunday where we can eat our weight in hamburgers and corn on the cob. Gosh, don't you just love summer?  Have a good one and some fun links . . .

Oh, yes, hello Friday. Has it been quite the week for you, too? Late evenings and early mornings seemed to find me this week, but I really can’t complain. All good things. 

Also . . . the boy is turning 30. You heard me right . . . 30 (!) on Sunday! We’re heading to a lovely resort tucked away in Hot Springs, VA for the weekend. Philip is most excited for rounds of golf, and I’m looking forward to finding myself at the pool. Ambitious, I know.

It’s beautiful outside, summer is nipping at our heels, it’s now May, and Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner. To celebrate (a Mexican battle victory- how odd of us, Americans), we’re hosting some friends on Sunday. I’m having quite the conundrum on what to make as Mexican cuisine is definitely not my specialty. Hmph.

This weekend . . . we’re finally watching this film, seeing a friend perform in a Pride and Prejudice play in Annapolis, and oh, hosting stop #2 of a brunch stroll on Saturday. Two of our neighboring friends had the brilliant idea to host a brunch stroll, similar to a progressive dinner, in our three homes. Boy and I are handling the savory dishes so I’m imaging Boozy Baked French Toast and Bloody Marys.’ Have a good one and until Monday . . . some fun links.

Plans this weekend? Boy and I are heading to my sister’s place in North Carolina. I cannot wait to squeeze my nephews. We are armed and ready for them with our booty of Legos, books, and puzzles. Plans this weekend? We’re enjoying some wine with friends tonight at Cork Wine Bar, and I can't wait as I've been wanting to check it out. On Saturday, I hope to do some little projects around the apartment, and boy and I will be enjoying our Valentine’s celebration tomorrow evening. Meaning that I’ll probably find myself at T.J. Maxx to find a last minute outfit for our romantic evening out. I love a good impulse buy. And on Sunday, we’re having another dinner party! It's Friday! What are getting into this weekend?

Boy and I are unexpectedly heading to a Wizard's basketball game tonight as some very good tickets were gifted to us. So sport-sy of me, I know. We have some dinner and cocktail plans with friends, but other than that, we'll probably be laying pretty low. Especially since it's our last weekend of this.
