ASOS Africa

In continuation of this post, here' s a line from ASOS that I wait for every season- the ASOS Africa line. The line is produced in collaboration with Soko Kenya, a clothing, export workshop that aims to create sustainable and fair employment for marginalized communities in Kenya. The designs are always a little offbeat and a welcoming interpretation of Kenyan style.

Perhaps it's the ballerina coming out in me, but I love tulle skirts. And, tulle + chambray seems like the perfect combo, don't you think? Or, well any blouse really.

Wedding Question

Despite my worry and moaning, it looks like my dress will work out after all. Can I just say, Woo Hoo!? It was a rough go there for a while. Now onto the business at hand . . .

The setting

Well, I am still trying to make this wedding happen this fall, possibly November. I can do it, right? Luckily, I have reinforcements coming in this weekend. Two of my very good college girlfriends are joining me on Saturday for a ridiculous amount of venue visits. Since a few places are wineries, I plan on entertaining the ladies with wine sipping. As I'm sure you have noticed, I really want a rustic, ethereal and natural setting for the big day, and I think a farm or vineyard is just the ticket! Light strands, wild flowers, exposed wooden beams with open fields and mountainscape in the background . . .

This week is quite a whirlwind as I launch back into my projects at work, start planning for Many Hope's annual fall fundraiser, and potentially plan a wedding sooner rather than later. What have I gotten myself into? 

The dress

The wedding planning is going . . .going . . . ok, it's not really going. Anywhere. But, I did just join Pinterest and from what I hear, the planning is easy as pie after that. Right?

So, let's talk wedding dress. I am thinking whimsical, romantic, antiquated, lacey, simple, dreamy, ethereal, vintage, clean. I know, I know, I really need to narrow my focus. Oye. Here are some that I'm oohing and ahhhing about . . .
